A Saudi Arabian tourist in Austria is being hailed as a hero for diving into a lake near Hallstatt village to save a man and his daughter from drowning.
Saudi hero acted on instinct
While on holiday with his friends, the unidentified Saudi hero noticed that the man and his daughter were unable to swim and acted on instinct as he dived into the water with his friends. Being a father himself, he said that he dived in to save them as he imagined his daughter in the same situation and said that there was nothing else to do but save them.

Saudi heroism in the UK
Last year in the UK, a Saudi student Turki Al Shammari, a student at the University of Central Lancashire had saved a man from the River Ribble in Preston, England. The man who he rescued, Dean Lowe, was in the water attempting to rescue his family’s dog but was struggling to swim against the strong currents.
Speaking to Arab News, Al Shammari said:
“I looked down into the river and found the man fighting for his life trying not to drown. I jumped in immediately and swam to him.”
“I went to the strong waters of the river and took the hand of the man. He pushed against a wall near the river and we went together out of the river, after which the police and ambulance arrived. The man cried and hugged me, and thanked me for saving his life.”
Dean Lowe expressed his thanks to the Saudi student as well as the people of Saudi Arabia in a video.
National News spoke to the Saudi hero afterwards to describe the experience.
Prince Khalid bin Bindar, Saudi Ambassador to the UK called Al Shammari and was invited to visit the Saudi Arabian embassy in London by Cultural Attache Dr. Amal Fatani.
“These are the brave sons of the nation.” Fatani tweeted.
