Haven’t visited Expo 2020 yet? Its seems you’ll soon be in the minority in the UAE.
An Expo 2020 official announced that the total number of visitors is set to cross the 1 million mark this week—a staggering number given the event only opened on October 1.
A total of 771,477 visited between October 1 and 17, and with the long weekend, it seems that the million number is not far off, said the official during a briefing, as reported by the Khaleej Times.
“Looking at the numbers, hopefully, we will be able to reach this number very soon. We are very happy with the level of participation and visitors at different pavilions and events,” the official said.
The official number of 1 million could be revealed as soon as tomorrow, as the attendees will be revealed each Monday—making the big announcement possible even tomorrow.
The weekends saw long queues over the weekend, with almost every pavilion busy. As the weather cools off, visitors should be going up, as the last announcement saw a 12 per cent increase week on week from the previous week.
The number of attendees at the mega event will be revealed every Monday.
