A boutique jewell in the Downtown Dallas hotel crown

A 1920s revitalized neo-gothic building in Dallas is perhaps not the first pace you would imagine as a boutique art hotel to rival most, but the Joule, as its website so rightly points out, is exactly like nowhere else – at least as far as Downtown Dallas is concerned.

Yet more acclaimed work from designer Adam D. Tihany, this landmark building fuses character with contemporary styling. With 164 guest rooms – an additional 29 suites have been added since the renovation – a bespoke lobby that’s quickly becoming something of a meeting place, and retail options such as the excellent Taschen store, this is a property with a firm vision of where its market lies. It’s in a great place too, being within walking distance of the Dallas Art District.

It’s the art throughout the hotel that truly marks the Joule, however, with original works from Andy Warhol, Tony Cragg, Adam Fuss and Anthony Pearson to name but a few.
