The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy in Qatar have just updated the rules for people wishing to travel into the country during the World Cup season.

Anyone who holds the Hayya card with the Hayya with Me (1+3) feature will be able to invite up to three non-ticketed fans to attend the tournament.

Previously, only Hayya card holders with match tickets were allowed to enter the country starting from November 1.

This feature is only available to approved Hayya Card holders aged 18 or above who applied for their card using a FIFA World Cup ticket number. This means that guests who were invited to Qatar cannot then invite guests of their own as they are solely the guests of their Hayya with Me (1+3) host.

How to invite guests

Hayya card holders with the Hayya with Me (1+3) feature will need to open their Hayya app and follow these steps in order to bring guests into Qatar:

  • Select ‘My Hayya’ and click ‘Action’
  • Select ‘Hayya with Me’
  • Holders will see three voucher codes
  • A voucher code should be given to the three non-ticketed applicants the wish to bring into Qatar

What guests need to do

After receiving a Hayya with Me voucher code from an approved Hayya card holder, guests will need to use it to apply for a Hayya card of their own. To do so, they need to follow these steps:

  • Apply for Hayya Card here.
  • From the ‘Applicant Category’, select ‘Hayya with Me Voucher’
  • Enter their voucher code
  • Select ‘Validate my Voucher’
  • Accept terms and submit their application

Every guest applying for a Hayya card will need to provide their accommodation details, whether they’re staying with friends or family or have made a booking through the Qatar Accommodation Agency or a third party.

There is also an application fee of AED 504 per person. Children under 18 can be added as a dependent to an existing Hayya card. Application fees will be applicable to them as well, but there’s no fee to add children under 12.

If their Hayya card application is approved, invited guests will then receive an email with an entry permit granting them access to the state of Qatar. The Hayya Card, along with a valid match ticket, will allow access to the World Cup stadiums, as well as free public transport for the duration of the tournament and a wide range of discounts.

Non-football festivities

Visitors without match day tickets can enjoy the other events going on across Qatar. Over 100 artists will be playing at three different music festivals and there will be various fan villages hosting various parties. Cultural attractions such as the National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art and the Katara Cultural Village will also be open for visitors.
