It’s been 17 long months since the world of Westeros graced our screens, and speaking quite frankly, it’s been way too long.
Eight seasons have gone by, the King in the North is dead. So are half the Starks, Lannisters, Baratheons and the Iron Throne is still very empty. However, after keeping us waiting for more than a year, HBO has finally revealed a tiny, (and by tiny, we mean very tiny scene), from the upcoming season of the show.
During the Annual Golden Globe Awards, HBO’s new trailer for its upcoming 2019 season featured a scene with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meeting our vote for Queen in the North, Sansa (Sophie Turner) in the Starks’ fortress Winterfell.
*Cue dramatic music*
This is the first time all three major characters have been pictured in a scene together.
In the trailer Sansa is seen saying to Daenerys: “Winterfell is yours, your Grace.”
The inner monologue in our head at this time is screaming “Is Sansa bending the knee? Where’s Arya? Do Jon and Daenaerys know they’re related? Is there going to be a big Red Wedding-esque killing spree? Is this moment what George R. R. Martin meant when he named the series Fire and Ice?”
There’s obviously a lot more to come from Westeros, including dragons, White Walkers and more. We’ve already started counting down the days until the season premiere. Have you?
