Here is Esquire Weekly: your guide to the best things to do, from what to know and what to wear to where to go.

The Look

Erling Haaland embraced a refined summer aesthetic at the Dolce&Gabbana Alta Sartoria show in Taormina, opting for a silk twill ensemble in a sophisticated white and ivory palette. The football star paired a double-breasted blazer with straight-leg trousers, layered over a silk crepe de chine shirt with a scarf detail. Blue leather knitted loafers, a frog-shaped bejewelled pin, and Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses completed the statement look.

Meanwhile, Theo James delivered a timeless take on evening tailoring, wearing a black double-breasted linen blazer with wide-leg wool trousers. The actor completed the monochromatic look with a black crepe de chine shirt and polished black leather derby shoes.

The Skin Boost

While many wait until autumn to focus on aesthetic treatments, Aesthetics by King’s College Hospital London – Dubai Marina Clinic is encouraging a proactive approach this summer, with July positioned as an ideal time to invest in skin health and body care.

The clinic offers medically guided treatments designed to address the effects of heat, humidity and sun exposure, including advanced facial rejuvenation, body contouring, regenerative skin therapies, laser treatments, hair restoration and intimate wellness solutions.

Aesthetics by King’s College Hospital London

Led by Plastic Surgeon and Medical Director Dr. Dragana Spica, the clinic focuses on personalised treatment plans that enhance natural features through subtle, results-driven approaches.

We recommend the clinic’s red LED light therapy, a non-invasive treatment designed to support skin renewal, improve overall complexion and complement a wider skincare routine. The relaxing session forms part of the clinic’s approach to combining advanced technology with personalised treatment plans.

Throughout July, guests can benefit from seasonal offers including 25% off non-surgical aesthetic treatments, 3+1 packages on selected treatments and laser hair removal packages. Complimentary consultations are also available to help create tailored treatment journeys.

The Drop

GymNation has unveiled its first-ever Muscle Thobe and Ghutra collection, blending fitness culture with traditional Gulf style. Designed for the region’s growing community of health-conscious consumers, the collection reflects a new generation embracing both athletic lifestyles and cultural identity.

Launched initially in Saudi Arabia, the collection was created in response to member demand, with plans to expand into Kanduras and additional fitness-inspired products across the GCC.

The launch comes as fitness continues to gain momentum across the region, driven by initiatives such as Saudi Vision 2030 and We The UAE 2031. As more people invest in their health and wellness, GymNation aims to bridge the gap between gym culture and everyday life, offering apparel that reflects the modern Gulf man’s lifestyle.

The New Chapter

The move marks a new chapter for the Swiss performance brand, alongside the signing of HYROX world record-holder Alexander Roncevic as part of its elite athlete roster.

Co-developed with Roncevic, the Cloud X Tempo Pro has already been tested at the highest level, with prototypes worn during his record-breaking performances in both Men’s Pro Singles and Pro Doubles categories.

Built to balance speed, stability and durability, the shoe combines On’s running expertise with features designed for functional training, including a carbon Speedboard®, Helion HF™ hyper foam and Missiongrip™ outsole. The Cloud X Tempo Pro launches globally in August 2026, arriving in the UAE later that year.

The Event

The Beirut International Awards Festivals (BIAF) returns to Downtown Beirut on July 30–31, 2026, bringing together leading names from the worlds of arts, entertainment, culture, business, sports, science and humanitarian work for one of the region’s most anticipated summer celebrations.

Marking its 13th edition, the festival will feature an opening ceremony and panel discussions on July 30, followed by a red carpet and awards ceremony on July 31, welcoming celebrities, creatives, diplomats and influential figures from Lebanon and around the world. Founded in 2010, BIAF continues its mission of celebrating exceptional talent and achievements while positioning Beirut as a hub for cultural exchange and global recognition.

The News

The Arab Fashion Council (AFC) has announced the appointment of Amina Taher as its new Chairwoman. Recognised as one of the region’s leading figures in brand, communications, and public affairs, Taher will lead the organisation as Arab fashion continues to gain global recognition.

Amina Taher

Since its establishment in 2015, the AFC has helped shape the region’s fashion ecosystem, co-founding Dubai Fashion Week with Dubai Design District and creating platforms that have elevated Arab designers onto the international fashion stage. Taher’s appointment marks a new chapter focused on strengthening institutional partnerships and expanding the global influence of Arab fashion.

The Movie

Christopher Nolan brings one of literature’s most enduring stories to the big screen with The Odyssey, arriving in cinemas across the region on 17 July.

Following acclaimed films including Oppenheimer, Inception and The Dark Knight trilogy, the Academy Award-winning filmmaker takes on Homer’s legendary epic, following Odysseus’ challenging journey home after the Trojan War.

Shot across six countries and filmed entirely with IMAX cameras, The Odyssey features an all-star cast including Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Zendaya as Athena, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Lupita Nyong’o.

Blending mythology, large-scale filmmaking and Nolan’s signature visual approach, the film marks the director’s ambitious adaptation of one of history’s most influential narratives.

The Terrace

While Dubai’s outdoor dining scene typically moves indoors during the hotter months, Le Trottoir de Paloma is keeping the terrace experience alive with a newly transformed glass-enclosed, air-conditioned space.

Surrounded by greenery and city views, the redesigned terrace maintains the feeling of outdoor dining while offering a comfortable escape from the summer heat. Open throughout the season, it joins Paloma’s indoor dining room as a destination for long lunches, after-work gatherings, weekend brunches, and evening dining.

Located at 25 Jump Street, Dubai’s first licensed street, Le Trottoir de Paloma continues to offer a French-inspired all-day dining experience in one of the city’s newest social destinations.

The Brunch

This summer, Mimi Kakushi invites guests to slow down and embrace a more atmospheric approach to brunch, inspired by the hidden jazz bars of 1920s Osaka where creativity, reinvention and urban energy collided.

The Weekend Brunch remains the signature experience, unfolding every Saturday and Sunday with a three-hour journey through contemporary Japanese flavours, from sushi and maki rolls to wagyu beef tataki, black cod, gyoza and signature mains, accompanied by a live DJ soundtrack.

For a more celebratory summer twist, Rosé Saturdays return on selected dates, including July 25, August 15, 22 and 29, in collaboration with Roseblood, featuring free-flowing rosé, live entertainment and seasonal details.

On July 18, Mimi Kakushi marks World Caviar Day with a one-day-only Caviar Brunch, featuring a live caviar station, signature dishes and an exclusive Crispy Chocolate Caviar dessert.

The Restaurant

This summer, China Tang Dubai invites guests to discover the art of Cantonese dining at The Lana Promenade, Dorchester Collection. Combining timeless culinary craftsmanship with Dubai’s cosmopolitan energy, the restaurant presents a season of refined experiences, from leisurely brunches and business lunches to intimate celebrations.

The Grand Tier Brunch Summer Edition offers an elegant Saturday escape, bringing together signature Cantonese dishes, warm hospitality and a vibrant social atmosphere.
