Rolls-Royce. Have two words ever gone together to create luxury so well? It was recently decided in the office while talking about the Wraith, that the amount of words it takes to describe your car is in correlation with its level of luxury. An Astra? No thank you. A Ferrari 458? Getting there, but step aside. Here we have the Rolls-Royce Wraith LHD.
The experience of the first impression speaks for itself, never has so much time being spent circling a car before actually entering it, but as we know deciding which angle to Instagram from is a life or death decision. Our model came with the thick middle stripe in Cornish white and the outer Arizona sun, concluding in an elegant take on a caramel sundae. Just as decadent maybe, and you’ll have to be just as rich.
One button and you’re in, through the suicide doors that feel like you have your own chauffeur. Sit down on the luxurious seats, place your hands on the hand crafted steering wheel, and feel why this is the fastest Rolls-Royce produced to date. 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds to be exact, meaning you could outrun James Bond in his DB9. Being a 2.3 ton car, this requires 624BHP, but being a Rolls and such a big car, the take off is inexplicably smooth. You’ll have to keep a quizzical eye on the speedometer to keep under the limit.
The Wraith has sometimes been seen as a car to, for lack of a better word, roll around in, but the previous paragraph as well as the handling leave this car further towards the performance end of the spectrum than any car they have previously produced. Further evidence of this is shown through the fastback design, a throwback to an older era, delivering memories of everyone’s favourite old Mustang.
For those of you with a family, the back seats offer ample space and legroom. The seats themselves are comfy, with the soft lambswool carpets beneath and starlight roof above exuding real luxury. This means you can be sure your guests or family are comfortable whilst yourself enjoying the perks of a ventilated, massaging seat in the front.
The one qualm we saw of not being able to see enough out of the back window was well dealt with, with parking sensors and cameras available to make even my own parking look decent. Rolls-Royce have delivered again with the Wraith, an exciting, elegant luxury vehicle at home wherever you choose to drive it.
