Clinics now have a a maximum of 24 hours to deliver results

PCR tests just thankfully got a whole lot cheaper—great news for those who want to stay safe and regularly need to test for their work, lifestyle or travel.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has now capped the price of PCR tests for Covid-19 to AED 50.

That’s not all—there is also a maximum amount that clinics can take to deliver results: 24 hours.

Previously, there was no limit on the time, and tests were priced at AED 65 in Abu Dhabi and AED 150 in Dubai, with the prices differing in the other emirates.

The change goes into effect starting tomorrow, August 31.

Tests for students in Abu Dhabi are free throughout September, the government announced today as well, with tests for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar qualifier between the UAE and Lebanon also free this Thursday.

In addition, the UAE is now open for all visas if you are vaccinated.

The Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) jointly announced Saturday, starting from August 30, application for tourist visas will be open to people from all countries, provided that they are fully vaccinated with one of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines.

The move was made with Expo 2020 set to welcome the world in October.

This comes as part of the country’s strategy to create a balance between public health and the activities of vital sectors, and in support of the national efforts to achieve sustainable recovery and economic growth.

The decision applies to citizens of all countries, including those arriving from the previously banned countries. Arriving passengers on tourist visa must take mandatory rapid PCR test at the airport. The previous rules for unvaccinated, including exempted categories, remain in place.

For visitors wishing to receive the benefits provided to individuals vaccinated in the UAE, register your vaccination via the ICA platform or Al Hosn application.
