Your child can finally go back to their old routine of going to school and participating in sports events from getting the vaccination. Here is where they can get it in Abu Dhabi.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) approved the emergency use of the Sinopharm vaccine for the 3 to 17 age group, based on the results of clinical studies, the strict assessment to approve the emergency use of the vaccine, and the local evaluation that complies with the approved regulations.
“The approval for the vaccine comes as part of the UAE’s efforts to combat the COVID-19 virus, and an affirmation of its proactive approach to ensure the health and safety of community members,” said a statement from WAM, the UAE’s state news agency.
In Abu Dhabi, there are walk-in vaccinations available at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Al Mushrif Children’s Speciality Centre, Al Mushrif Majlis, Al Bateen Majlis, and Al Manhal Majlis.
For people residing on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi like Al Ain, the DoH informed that the vaccine is available at Al Kubaisi Hall of Al Ain Exhibition Centre, Al Towayya Children’s Speciality Centre, and Falaj Hazaa Majlis for Al Ain.
People in Al Dhafra can vaccinate their children at Ghayati Hospital, Liwa Hospital, Marfa Hospital, Sila Hospital, Delma Hospital, Al Dhafra Family Medicine Centre, and Al Dhafra Cooperative Society.
The UAE has been leading the way since the beginning of the pandemic. Further proof of that came through last month as the UAE was officially named the most vaccinated nation in the world.
The UAE has officially fully vaccinated 72.1 percent of its population in 15.5 million doses.
Which country is ranked number two? According to Bloomberg’s vaccine tracker data, it is the Seychelles, which has vaccinated 71.7 percent of its less than 100,000 population.
Currently, Sinopharm and Pfizer are the two most administered vaccines in the UAE.
“Though we feel kids get less sick than adults, Covid-19 can still harm them by causing long-term health conditions like MIS-C,” said Dr. Manjunath M Nagalli, a pediatrician at Burjeel Specialty Hospital to Khaleej Times.
Dr. Nagalli said that the vaccination allows kids to go back to their old life and routine.
“Vaccination, which is an important tool in bringing the pandemic to an end, will also have a positive impact on children’s wellbeing in terms of social and emotional development,” Dr. Nagalli said.
