The UAE has announced the public and private sector’s holiday dates for Eid al Fitr 2021, with the private sector soon to follow.
Eid al Fitr public holidays will begin on Tuesday, May 11. They will end on the 3rd Shawwal 1441 H, which has not yet been declared, said the The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
The end date will be locked in once Eid is officially announced at the end of Ramadan, which is expected to be on May 13, a Thursday.
Ramadan began on the evening of April 12, 2021.
For those looking for their holiday destination, the airlines have been running flash sales on tickets.
The authority also offered greetings to the people of the UAE, as well as Arab and Islamic nations around the world.
For those already planning how to celebrate, Eid al Fitr will kick off with a bang.
Starting with the first night of Eid, Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island will have a spectacular fireworks celebration.
Not only that, the fireworks will continue three nights in a row—and you can stream all of them online.
The entire event will be broadcast live from the Yas Island Instagram from the first night of Eid al Fitr and will follow for the next two nights as well.
The fireworks for all three nights will be set off from Yas Bay waterfront, which is the first time Eid fireworks have been set off from that location.
To watch, go to the link below from 21:00 each night, starting with the first night of Eid.
Gatherings are prohibited because of Yas Island’s Covid-19 safety measures.
The firworks will be held in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s Departure of Culture and Tourism.
