Dubai Police has fined around 100 beachgoers in Dubai for not following the strict precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus, reports Arabian Business.
Beaches at JBR, Al Mamzar, Jumeirah and Umm Seqeim only reopened to the public on Friday, but the emirate’s police force, in cooperation with Dubai Municipality, revealed that action has been taken against people for not wearing masks and violating social distancing.
People were caught as a result of increased patrols and monitoring from the authorities.
Failure to wear a face mask carries a AED3,000 fine, with the same amount applicable for anyone not adhering to social distancing guidelines.
