Nike is urging the world to take action against racism and social injustice

Nike is once again leading the corporate world’s stance against racism.

The brand has released a new message that flips the iconic brand’s slogan ‘Just Do It’ to ‘For Once, just don’t do it’ in reference to systematic racism and social injustice.

The video comes after weeks of protests that took place across America, following the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.

The video continues:

“Don’t pretend there’s not a problem in America. Don’t turn your back on racism. Don’t accept innocent lives being taken from us. Don’t make any more excuses. Don’t think this doesn’t affect you. Don’t sit back and be silent. Don’t think you can’t be part of the change. Let’s all be part of the change.”
Rival brand Adidas chose to re-tweet the message, from its official account.

This isn’t the first time Nike has waded in to discussions about racism. In 2018, its Dream Crazy campaign featured former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick which led to a 31 per cent books in Nike online sales and even won an Emmy.
