Careem launches an on demand grocery service in Dubai

Careem Now has launched an on-demand grocery store service in Dubai, to help deliver essentials to customers in the city.

Using the app, you can now order products from local stores – including groceries, organic and health food shops, pharmacies, coffee shops and pet stores. That bolsters the apps listings of cafes and restaurant deliveries.

Currently, the new stores listed on the app include Lulu Hypermarket, 7-Eleven, 800-Pharmacy, Al Manara Pharmacy, The Pet Corner and Rootz Organics.

“Careem’s pledge to assist the community, its partners, customers and Captains during these confusing times is our top priority,” says Gheed El Makkaoui, general manager of Careem UAE.

“This new product launch enables us to further meet the needs of the community, and we are delighted to be able to offer delivery of essentials through our platform in a safe, efficient way to simplify the lives of our users.”

Currently, most services aim to deliver within the hour (although, expect that to change depending on demand).

The additions to the app come as the UAE has extended its sanitization period another week, it its effort to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
