Things got a bit tense at Dubai Airport yesterday after an aircraft collided with a parked Emirates plane at Dubai International airport on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, a British Airways Airbus A350 was reversing from the gate, preparing for take off to London, when it crashed into the Emirates Boeing 777.

In a statement, an Emirates spokesperson confirmed the incident to to Arabian Business, and said: “We can confirm that early this morning (April 14), another airline’s aircraft made contact with a stationary Emirates aircraft at Dubai International airport.
“No one was injured. The incident is under investigation.”

Aviation influencer Sam Chui reports that “the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER, with registration A6-EBR, arrived the previous day at from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The British Airways A350, with registration G-XWBA, was performing a pushback to leave Dubai to London Heathrow; the BA A350 was performing flight BAW106 when the incident occurred. The aircraft was due to depart from Dubai at 01:30 and arrive in London at 06:15.”
The minor damange includes a dented tailwing on one of the aircrafts.
Emirates is currently running flights to other destinations for repatriation purposes.
The Dubai-based recently airline revealed plans to recommence a few flights to cities including London and Frankfurt.
The airline will now fly to Tunis, Jakarta, Chicago, Taipei, Algiers, Manila and Kabul, in order to enable residents and visitors to return to their home countries.
