The theme of the Dubai Expo is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, working to showcase the abilities of each participating country to move into a new age of modernity and interconnectivity. A majority of the creations at the Expo have education and communication at the forefront of design in reference to this theme.
3 sub-themes
The sub-themes are “Sustainability”, “Mobility” and “Opportunity”. In reference to this, Expo 2020 aims to divert 85 per cent of all waste from landfill by reducing, reusing, recycling and repurposing – turning waste into everything from fertiliser to souvenir t-shirts. A majority of the pavilions have a focus on environmentalism, sustainability and green energy. There’s also considerations for inclusivity for everyone attending.
