There’s a good chance many of you reading this were born after Hogan’s Heroes ended on TV.
The show was one of the most popular of the 1960s, and now it’s coming back to entertain modern audiences. The series is being re-booted alongside series co-creator Al Ruddy and Village Roadshow Entertainment Group and Rough Pictures.
The reimagined version will be a single-camera action-adventure comedy series (think The Office) set in present-day, and focus on the descendants of the original heroes – who are now scattered around the globe. The group team up to go on an epic treasure hunt for secret Nazi gold apparently hidden by their ancestors.
Ruddy I executive producer, while Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Jody Hill are all rumoured to be attached.
Hogan’s Heroes was created by Bernard Fein and ran for 168 episodes on CBS. It centred on a group of POWs imprisoned in a German prison, led by Colonel Hogan who secretly used the camp to launch Allied espionage missions.
