It’s not everyday you hear of the Pope getting stuck in the elevator for 25 minutes. While addressing the crowd during his usual Sunday sermon from the Papal terrace, Pope Francis explained what exactly happened.
He was riding up the ‘little elevator of Pope Sixtus’ when there was a drop in voltage and he was trapped in there for about 25 minutes until the Vatican firefighters came to rescue him.
“Thank God the firefighters intervened,” Francis said to the gathered crowd.
Despite being stuck in a closed space for almost 30 minutes, the 82-year-old seemed cheery and in good spirits when he gave his speech.

So the next time you’re stuck in a Dubai Marina apartment building elevator on the 73rd floor, take some inspiration from the Pope and maintain a sunny disposition.
