In pictures: Kevin Spacey’s first public appearance in 2 years

Kevin Spacey – the US actor currently under investigation for assault in the US and Britain – has made his first public appearance in 2 years. The actor was spotted in Rome.

Spacey was seen wearing a suit and tie while reciting a poem outdoors in front of spectators. His appearance was near the near a Hellenistic bronze statue “Boxer at Rest”. The poem Spacey recited is by Gabriele Tinti, a contemporary Italian poet in which he gives the statue voice.

The actor’s appearance comes after British prosecutors dropped assault proceedings against Spacey, following a witness’ refusal to testify.

Spacey has always insisted that he was innocent of all charges.

Spacey is a small part of the latest chapter in Hollywood’s fight-back against assault and harassment by senior men in the movie industry. Bill Cosby was jailed, and film mogul Harve Weinstein’s trial is set to begin in September.

Spacey is a two-time Oscar-winner, who was dropped from the cast of Netflix’s House of Cards and from Ridley Scott’s ‘All the Money in the World, over the allegations.
