It’s seriously dark and gritty

Throughout the two mins and twenty eight seconds of Casey Affleck’s new film’s trailer, Light of My Life, viewers are pretty much glued to their screens.

The film is a post-apocalyptic drama about a world without women. The synopsis says: “Parent and child journey through the outskirts of society a decade after a pandemic has wiped out half the world’s population. As a father struggles to protect his child, their bond, and the character of humanity, is tested.”

Affleck returns to the big screen after his Oscar win for best actor in 2017 for Machester by the Sea.

The film debuted at the Berlin Film Festival and there was one performace that critics noted were a complete stand out. Light of My Life also stars Elisabeth Moss and Anna Pniowsky, whose performance in the film has been described as outstanding.

Anna Pniowsky stars as Casey Afflecks young daughter who is the only woman left on earth after all women succumbed to an unknown virus.

While the teaser for the movie is pretty suspenseful, time will tell if the movie is any good. The film hits theatres this August.
