It’s bad news for the owners of a factory who recently got caught by the cops for making and selling fake Lamborghini and Ferrari in Brazil. But who would buy those knock-offs?
Well, apparently they had a long list of customers. The cars were being sold for around 1/5th the price of the real supercars and they were being offered up for sale on social media for as little as $45,000 to $60,000.
According to the Associated Press, the factory was run by a father and son duo who ran the workshop in Santa Catarina.
The police were informed about the fake factory by the makers of the supercars who have intellectual rights to the cars’ designs.
The report also added that “officials didn’t say what sort of parts were used to build the vehicles, but they distributed photos showing sleek bodies, as well as badges and accessories emblazoned with the Italian brands.”
