Is there really any surprise?

Over its six day Fourth of July weekend, Spider-Man: Far From Home raked in $185 million, earning over $93.6 million in the actual weekend.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a genius technique, people will watch Marvel films ‘JUST’ for the post-credit scene now. With all the films connected, even if there’s a superhero you don’t care about as much, you still watch it to see the overlapping universe treat you to information on the heroes you do like.

Avengers: Endgame was re-released in fact, not with any new footage in the film, only new footage after the credits, which was enough to have the film hoover up some extra cash in its mission to topple Avatar as most profitable film ever.

The latest Spider-Man film, the second in Tom Holland’s immediately celebrated tenure, has a post-credit scene that ties a nice little bow on the MCU as a whole, marking the true end of the third phase of the franchise.

This means that anyone who saw Endgame, which was basically everyone, now had that itch to watch this Spidey film just to get that extra closure. You can read our take on what the post-credit scene means for the MCU here.

Riding off both the love for Holland the hype of Endgame, it’s no surprise that this Spider-Man film is the most profitable of all time. It has the highest debut for any Spider-Man film ever made, almost $70 million more than the previous film’s opening weekend. The global total for the new Holland movie currently stands at $580 million already.

The film itself is more than just a final chapter for Endgame, the film itself is getting a lot of good noises around it, with an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes for example, just behind Endgame’s 94%.

Thankfully, due to Holland’s notoriety at being an awful secret-keeper, we know there’s more Spidey on the way and that the actor is even down for a Venom crossover.
