His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has appeared at the first day of the British Royal Ascot, a highly prestigious racing event. His horse, Blue Point, has secured a second victory two years in a row, only the 12th horse to ever do so.
Godolphin, the Maktoum family’s private horseracing stable has reason to celebrate, with Blue Point’s second victory during the King’s Stand Stakes Race. Blue Point was ridden by jockey James Doyle and the team stood as among the favourites to take the day one race.
“The weather and his time in Dubai helped him, and he returned to Royal Ascot as a stronger horse,” Sheikh Mohammed told the post-race television interview.
His Highness was also joined by members of the British royal family, including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince William.
