The dates for Eid Al Fitr 2019 are here, once it begins, those in the Emirates can enjoy a week long holiday.
It was announced that the public and private sector would share the same holidays as a way of boosting the national economy and solidarity.
It has now been confirmed by The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation that the holiday will begin on Monday, June 3 (29 Ramadan) until 3rd of Shawwal. That means that we can enjoy a near week long holiday in the private sector, not needing to go back to work till the 9th of June as the holiday ends on the 8th.
Eid falls on the 1st day of Shawwal which depends on moon-sighting – this will be either June 4th or June 5th.
Though the private sector and the public are set to now share holidays, those in the public sector will have an extra day, as holidays for them kick off on June 2nd, a day earlier than private.
Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Cabinet announces Eid Al Fitr holiday for the public sector to start on Sunday 2nd of June, for one week, with work resuming on Sunday 9th of June. #UAEGov
