Concrete jungle where dreams are made of

If you were in the crowd watching Alicia Keys perform at the Jazz Festical this past weekend in Dubai, then you would have probably sung along to the last song in her set “Empire State of Mind”.

To quote Keys, New York is the “concrete jungle where dreams are made of.”

And while there’s quite literally nothing they can’t do. There also nothing Dubai can’t do. The city will soon get it’s very own Central Park.

Dubai recently revealed plans for a brand-new residential zone at City Walk, called Central Park.

The new residential neighbourhood will surround 40,000 sq m private park, featuring tennis courts, basketball courts, swimming pools, spas, cafés and a play area for the kids.

Park visitors can also expect areas dedicated to yoga, barbecue spots, picnic pavilions and a “skate-able landscape”. The neighbourhood will span 230,000 sq m, and will include 12 mid-rise residential buildings with 187 one- to four-bedroom apartments overlooking the park.

The residential buildings will be designed to blend in with the park’s environment, which will include plants and flowers hanging at the edge of each balcony.

The neighbourhood is currently in its planning stage, and has yet to reveal when construction of the new zones will finish.
