Luxury watch outfit Audemars Piguet is to auction off a unique piece for charity. Hosted by Cirque du Soleil at a Las Vegas event, the proceeds will go towards a safe water initiative established by the performance troupe’s founder, Guy Laliberté.
The piece itself – a Royal Oak Chronograph reference 26311 – boasts a solid platinum construction and bracelet, with an impactful purple dial (referred to as a ‘Grande Taipisserie’ by the manufacture). And, clocking in at a mighty 41mm in diameter, you’d be forgiven for thinking this is quite the heavyweight piece – it’s the specialised Royal Oak construction that makes it a lighter wear.
Heading into the auction, the piece holds an estimated value of around $112,000 – more than four times the value of mainline Royal Oak Chronographs. Other top lots include a Turks & Caicos holiday aboard a private jet, a stay at a St. Tropez château and an original McLaren 750S Spider.
