1| TOMO SUNSET SESSIONS
Raffles has introduced their Sunset Sessions on the TOMO Views Terrace, which is high enough to still be cool for a few more weeks to come. The venue sees incredible views across the Dubai skyline accompanied by soft, sophisticated house music and some of the best authentic Japanese food in the city from the kitchen of Chef Chitoshi Takahashi . The sushi is excellent (Takahashi gets up at 4am every day, heads to the Deira Fish Market and picks the fish himself), but the wagyu menu, important exclusively from Japan, is worth tucking into. The Wagyu Amiyaki (halal wagyu beef served with wasabi and sesame sauce), is the perfect accompaniment to watch the sun go down and don’t worry, you won’t be shouting across a table to your dinner date, this really is the way to dine alfresco.
2| THE WAILERS AT THE IRISH VILLAGE
As part of their Legend Tour 2014 celebrating the 30th anniversary of Legend (the best selling reggae album of all time), The Wailers will play the iconic album in its entirety live tonight, at The Irish Village. And let’s face it, this is the last outdoor gig you’ll be able to comfortably survive before it gets too hot.
Tickets Dhs130, doors open at 7pm
3| BOCA DIFC
Culminating the best of Italian, French and Spanish food, new home-grown restaurant Boca serves a well-rounded selection of Mediterranean fare and drinks to match. Share dishes to make the most of the extensive menu, including truffle barrata, braised lamb terrine and grilled quail which comes in a morish smoked chestnut emulsion and wild mushroom sauce. But it’s their courtyard garden that gives this DIFC dining destination one up on it’s neighbours, so make the most of it before the heat stops you from doing so.
