Brace yourselves Apple Fans, the new Cellular version of the Apple Watch 3 has officially landed here in the UAE

In a few years, we might look back and say that last year’s big Apple launch wasn’t the iPhone X. It was the Watch Series 3.

With smartphones now at peak evolution, Apple quietly created a wrist-based iPhone – and that device is finally available here in the UAE.

Of course, the 4G-equipped Series 3 is no phone replacement – you still need an iPhone 6 or later to get it working, and you also need a special plan that is currently locked to telecoms provider Etisalat – but it turns out there is an awful lot you can do with the Apple Watch’s one point six five inch screen.

I have been playing with my own device for just a few days now, and I’ve got to say that I have gone from being a smartwatch sceptic to a bit of a convert. And when executed well – in the case of the Apple Watch 3 cellular – the 4G capabilities inside the smartwatch are generally quite liberating.

But it’s not just that additional connectivity that makes this launch exciting. Now that the new watch has arrived, Apple has also unveiled a variety of new case materials, including Stainless Steel and new Hermès leather strap versions.

The new Apple Watch 3 Cellular model will be available first thing tomorrow morning in the UAE. The base 38-millimetre model costs AED1,679, with the 42-millimetre model coming in at AED1,784.
