A weekend always packed full of fast cars and beautiful women, it looks like this year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is setting up to appeal to your ears just as much as yours eyes. Two of the four international headline artists for this year’s Yasalam After-Race Concerts have just been announced and, we have to say, they’re pretty good.
Kicking off the four days of musical celebrations on Thursday 23 November is none other than Calvin Harris. But this won’t just be any old version of Calvin Harris on stage. This will be post-Taylor Swift Calvin Harris: the man on a mission who’s been releasing banger after successive banger and became the first British solo artist to reach more than one billion streams on Spotify. So take that, Tom Hiddleston. With his feature-heavy ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1’ currently making the rounds of the airwaves, we can guarantee that Calvin’s energetic performance will match the Mach speed of the F1 racers.
Finishing off the party on Sunday 26 November with a heap of singalong hits, iconic pop superstar P!NK is also scheduled to perform. Known for her immense stage presence, P!NK is the sort of artist that will ensure you leave the race weekend with a smile on your face and ‘Get the Party Started’ stuck in your head. In fact, you’ve probably got it stuck in your head right now. That’s the overwhelming power of P!NK.
The remaining two acts, set to hit the stage on November 24 and 25, won’t be revealed until a later date. However, if the calibre of Calvin and P!NK are anything to go by then it’s fairly safe to assume we can expect some equally big names to follow.
As always, the only way to enjoy the four Yasalam After-Race Concert performances will be by purchasing a ticket for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Which isn’t really that bad now, is it? Tickets are available online.
