With an abundance of food outlets, Dubai has always been a gourmet’s paradise where your bill can easily range between Dhs5 to… well, that depends on how hungry you are. Previously our choice of food driving back from the Capital was limited to a few fast-food chains that come as standard issue with petrol stations. Thankfully the void for good food was filled by ‘Last Exit Street Food Trucks’ on the Dubai bound Sheikh Zayed road.
Meraas, team behind the concept have brought in ‘Last Exit at Al Khawaneej’, the third addition to the already successful pair, the second being ‘Last Exit D63’ in Al Qudra. The new location design reflects an agricultural theme of the surrounding community in Al Khawaneej, next to Mirdiff between Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road. The great outdoors inspiration with spacious lawns, vintage pick-ups; farm animals and bird houses. We hear the plan is to create 10 new Last Exit destinations in Dubai by 2018.

Ten popular concepts have set up shop at Last Exit Al Khawaneej bringing together wholesome dishes by homegrown Indian street food concept, Jaldi Jaldi, fried chicken house Hot Chix, and the Latin American sensation that is Poco Loco. The plan for D89 is to have a range of community events and add a homestead, a bakery, and indoor restaurants.
