Have you been waiting all your life to see Wayne Rooney’s face plastered across a massive cinema screen? Yes? Well, luckily for you (you strange, strange person) that wait is now over. No, unlike Carlo Ancelotti, Wayne hasn’t been cast in the latest Star Trek film but beIN Sports and Novo Cinemas have decided to join forces in order to show the Euro 2016 knock-out stage games on cinema screens this Ramadan and Eid.
Live screenings of the Quarters, Semis and Final will be shown across Novo Cinemas in Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE starting from June 30 all the way until July the 10th for the Final.
Match timetable:
Quarter Final 1: Thursday 30 June
Quarter Final 2: Friday 1 July
Quarter Final 3: Saturday 2 July
Quarter Final 4: Sunday 3 July
Semi Finals: Wednesday 6 & Thursday 7 July
Final: Sunday 10 July
The Euro 2016 screening comes hot on the heels of a number of successful live screenings of sporting events, including El Clásico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid back in March.
“The atmosphere at these games promises to be second-to-none, as surround sound audio will doubtlessly combine in sweet harmony with the raucous cheering of yourself and countless others to make it seem as if you’re at the Stade de France itself. Except, of course, you’ll be welcomed by air-conditioning, popcorn, and a seat that’s actually comfortable,” says Debbie Stanford-Kristiansen, CEO of Novo Cinemas
Both English and Arabic commentary will also be available. Tickets start from just AED 60 and can be purchased from Novo Cinema Box Offices, the Novo Cinema App or novocinemas.com
