-The Influencers - Karim Drif
A serial entrepreneur and passionate horse-rider, the Moroccan moved to Dubai and fell in love with the sport of polo. Revelling in the fast, dynamic and excitement of the sport, he hopes to use his position (and passion) to help spread the interest to other areas in the region.
How important is social media in your life?
I use Instagram, and that’s where I limit my social media output. I enjoy it because it is a fun way to share my passion for polo with others, but it does not play a huge part in my life.
Who influences you?
I like to think that everyone has an ability to influence – especially because I believe that influence is just as much about what to do, as it is what not to do. You can actually turn any interaction into a positive thing.
What do you hope to achieve with your level of influence?
I try to be a positive influence on people. I have recently created a non-profit organisation called ‘Polo in Morocco’ which will aim to promote the sport of polo. I have learnt a lot from the UAE in terms of what the sport is about, and I admire the progression it has had in this country and would like to see it do the same in Morocco. My goal is to establish organisation within both of those countries.
