Esquire’s favourite watch-man reveals the top five pieces in his private collection:
HYT H0 Arab Watch Club Edition
I was approached by the innovative watch brand HYT to work on a project on behalf of the Arab Watch Club. This piece is my design and I see it is as a huge personal achievement.
The Moser MAD red dial
The latest addition to my collection. It took me more than a year of thinking about buying it, but I love the blood-red dial so I pulled the trigger. On the wrist it changes colour and shade with the light, and the size of it is perfect for my wrist. [It is also notable for having a case composed of actual Swiss cheese…]
Czapek Quai de Bergues Aqua Blue S
There were only 15 of these pieces when I ordered it. I was super lucky to be the first to receive it with the engraving H.A. Arabwatchguide on the case back. I am still mesmerised by the guilloché pattern that is specific to the brand.
Vacheron Constantin Triple Calendar Historiques 1942
This watch is one of the classiest in my collection and a very dressy one. It makes me feel special when I wear it, and I love the vintage 1940s look.
Girard Perregaux Skeleton Ceramic
This watch has a dual purpose for me — it’s quite sporty with the ceramic look, but also really easy to wear with a suit. The skeleton work on the dial is amazing and, as I love skeleton watches, I cannot stop looking at it when I am wearing it.
