“Revisiting a luxury beyond compare” is the poetic description of three stunning new fragrances from Parfums de Marly by its founder and creative director, Julien Sprecher.
Refined and artistic, the new Les Extraits from the storied French Maison is inspired by the golden age of perfumery in the 18th century. Featuring a striking equestrian theme, the collection treads a delicate line between time-honoured tradition and contemporary resonance.
Typifying French luxury, timeless elegance and exquisite craftsmanship, the sophisticated fragrances have been created from exceptional raw materials that imbue each scent with both character and presence.
Carios is for the ambitious who lead with charisma and determination. Red mandarin, thyme and roasted tonka bean combine for a regal fragrance that Sprecher says, “breaks the rules and instantly makes an impression.”
Vibrant, powerful and audacious, Eragon is an homage to the Sun King, Louis XIV and dances between lightness and depth. “I worked with patchouli, vanilla and cinnamon in a radiant, almost incandescent style to give amber new energy,” explains Sprecher, who believes Eragon can also be worn by a woman.
Finally, Valero, a multifaceted and elegant scent that is rooted in tradition yet looks towards the future. “Discreet yet assertive,” is how Sprecher describes Valero, which brings lavender, Bourbon geranium and cypress into play with base notes of patchouli and sandalwood.
For such a landmark chapter in the story of Parfums de Marly, the revered Maison designed exclusive bottles for its new trio. Crafted from crystal-clear glass to reveal the colour of the scent within, each bottle is engraved with a 3D horse that echoes the emblem of Parfums de Marly. Inspired by architectural features of former French royal residence Château de Marly from where the brand derives its name, the cap is engraved with an interlaced pattern reminiscent of guilloché engraving.
