Baldness. A simple word that can turn even the most hardened man to a quivering mess of self-conscious doubt. And although, when we were young, we imagined ourselves as a modern day Samson, the sad truth is that male hair-loss is in the rise. That said, going bald doesn’t need to carry the stigma that it does, here are five tips to let you know how to go bald gracefully:

1. Get a good hair cut
No matter what you think, the comb-over look just doesn’t work. If you’re going a little thin on top, growing your hair long only draws more attention to it. Our advice is to cut your hair short, prepare yourself for the inevitable and own the look.
2. Don’t live in denial
Sadly, there isn’t much you can do about it. Hair implants are expensive and painful, and those hair growth adverts that you see on TV, normally from ex-cricketers (why always cricketers?!), aren’t all they promise to be. You’ve had a good run, now except your fate like a man.
3. Grow a beard
The upside-down hair look (full beard, but none on top) is not only a viable option for men losing their hair, but it also very much on trend. If you are able to grow a beard, then it can help lessen the severity of a bald head. Play around with various forms of beard, from full to full-on goatee.
4. Take care on top
In the heat of the Gulf, without the protection of hair, your scalp is exposed to the elements. You need to take care of it by using moisturiser, or applying a light sunscreen to it.
5. Get tough
Bruce Willis, Jason Statham (pictured), Floyd Mayweather – three men that prove that having no hair can actually make you look harder than you are. Remember, snarling and speaking in a low-voice will also help intimidate people into stopping those bald jokes, forever.
