Montblanc initially introduced itself to audiophiles a couple of years ago with its over-ear headphones, offering an experience to those who appreciate craftsmanship in the luxury accessory market. However, recognizing the ubiquitous presence of true-wireless in-ears in our daily lives, the Swiss Maison has now unveiled an in-ear headphone collection – the MTB 03.

With the iconic snowcap logo proudly stamped on the ear pieces, this is the question that owners of the MTB 03 headphones will likely get tired of repeatedly being asked. With sound design being a priority on these bad boys though, it’ll be easy to drown out.
Design-wise, Montblanc draws inspiration for the MTB 03 from its celebrated Meisterstück collection. It makes sense, seeing that the timeless writing instrument is one of their most iconic products – after all, James Bond himself used a Meisterstück fountain pen in Octopussy, and the craftsmanship and functionality of the MTB 03 headphones make it seem as though they were designed by Q himself.
Montblanc enlisted renowned sound engineer Axel Grell as its “Q”, and the result is a fine-tuned audio experience that resonates with discerning listeners- known as the Montblanc Sound Signature.

Crafted with premium materials and a perfect ergonomic fit, they cater to the needs of individuals embarking on daily adventures. Equipped with Active Noise Cancellation and live-mode to let the outside world in, the MTB 03 offers an immersive audio experience while also being water-resistant.

Seems they got this right, as the headphones are very Montblanc, along with all the now-expected features like touch functionality, which allows for convenient control of essential sound features like playback, call answering, and so on.
Secured in a black-coated aluminum charging case, the MTB 03 are convenient for users to carry in their pockets, or display gracefully on a desk at the office.
Though we’re partial to the brand’s luxury leather goods, we at Esquire like the direction that Montblanc is going in with the MTB 03. My dad got me a Montblanc wallet when I was sixteen and so I’ll likely stay loyal to them for all my future card-holding needs.
But I’ll definitely have to return the favour with a pair of MTB 03 next father’s day.
