Apple is bringing some new products to the Middle East this month – including a redesigned iPad Mini, and all-new iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 7

Apple will bring some new products with major upgrades to the UAE later this month.

Announced during its annual Keynote event, the UAE will soon get new versions of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, Apple Watch Series 7 and software updates.

These are all the major announcements made at Tuesday’s big tech conference.

1. Apple will release the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro with the best camera system ever

Apple’s new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro devices will arrive with a powerful new camera system, as well as an even brighter OLED screen, improved battery life and a new A15 Bionic chip for improved processing.

The iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Mini will come in five new colours: blue, pink, midnight, starlight, and (PRODUCT.RED). This time the cameras are placed diagonally, unlike previous iPhone 12 models.

Meanwhile., the iPhone 13 Pro is available in four finishes: graphite and gold, silver, and sierra bleu.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max will open on Friday, September 17, with the delivery of the devices starting on September 24.

2. Apple updates its littlest iPad Mini (and the regular iPad)

Apple has given the iPad Mini a design refresh; the dinky tablet now comes with the same flat sides as the iPad Pro and iPad Air lines.

Like its iPhone counterparts, the iPad Mini features an all-new A15 Bionic Chip, a better and larger 8.3-inch screen, 5G connectivity, and an Ultra-Wide front camera complete with Apple’s Center Stage. It will also now work with Apple’s second-generation Pencil (making it just about ideal as a digital notebook).

Meanwhile, the regular iPad (which Apple was keen to point out remains by far its most popular tablet) received the new A13 Bionic Chip, True Tone Technology, an Ultra Wide Camera with Center Stage and a wider range of storage options, including 64GB.

Both tablets are available for pre-order as of this Friday, with delivery on the 24th of September. Check out more details here.

3. Apple’s Watch Series 7 features a larger display

The Apple Watch Series 7  will feature faster charging, a bigger screen, new accessories and straps, and an enhanced watchOS 8.

The big news is the Apple Watch’s brighter Always-On Retina LCD display with 20 per cent more screen area, and ultra-thin 1.7mm borders with softer and rounded corners.

A redesigned front crystal screen has been added to the watch to make it stronger and more resistant to cracks. Series 7 also received an IP6X dust resistance rating to make it more durable to dust and sand (a welcome addition for our region)

WatchOS 8 has been updated to improve the watch’s battery life, which can now last 18 hours on one charge – according to Apple, at least.

All Apple Watch Series 7 models and all Apple Watch Series 7 models, will be available by the end of this fall – but are not yet available to pre-order

4. Hermes has two new luxury watch bands

Two new styles will be released by Apple in partnership with Hermes. Circuit H, which is a play upon the luxury brand’s iconic design, is now available in Swift leather in a variety of colours – including wine and blue, brown and blue and black and both blue and white.

Gourmette Double Tour, the second offering, is a return to 1930s-era collars. The slim band has woven links made in soft Fauve Barenia leather. The band wraps twice around wrists and is inspired by the brand’s famous chain motif.

All Apple Watch Series 7 models and the Apple Watch Hermes Series 7 (new Apple Watch Hermes band) will be available sometime this fall.
