Move over PC Master Race, because the PS5 has you beat

A lot of PC players are about to lose their bragging rights as it looks like PC won’t be the self-proclaimed ‘master race’ anymore. FIFA 22 will feature new gameplay technology that developer EA thinks PC’s won’t be able to handle.

If you scroll the comments section about any gaming related post on Instagram, you’re bound to see console users and PC users arguing about which is the best platform. Most times, PC players will brag about how they can stream a higher frame rate of gameplay or a better graphics resolution. However, with the upcoming FIFA 22 game coming out later this year, players purchasing the PC version of the game won’t be able to use the brand new HyperMotion technology that’s been developed to enhance the gameplay experience.

As seen in the latest trailer for the game, HyperMotion is specially developed motion capture technology where football players wear a motion capture suit that more accurately captures their motions to generate even more realistic gameplay animations.

EA calls has explained that these ‘Xsens’ suits “record every touch, tackle, sprint and duel from all 22 players playing at high intensity for the first time ever, capturing data that powers over 4000 new animations in FIFA 22 to raise the footballing intensity, responsiveness, and physicality of every player in the game.”

In addition to this, over 8.7 million frames of advanced real match capture has been studied by “a cutting edge proprietary machine learning algorithm” to develop these new animations “in real time to create organic football realism across a variety of interactions on the pitch” says EA.

Sadly PC users won’t notice these gameplay upgrades and neither will last generation platforms such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Meaning that current generation console users take the win for at least one video game.

FIFA 22 features Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe returning to the front cover and is expected to be released on October 1.
