With work from home a thing of the past, why not potentially terrify your pets with a robot when you’re away?

After a year of being home in quarantine with our furry loved ones, going back to the office can be difficult. Rather than leave them home alone, perhaps you could leave them with a robot instead.

Yeah, we’re serious—someone has designed a robot to keep an eye on and entertain pets when they’re left at home. It’s called the Tuti Robo.

The robot, about the size of the pet you may be leaving it with or a bit smaller depending, offers features such as a remotely-accessible HD camera that takes photos, records videos, and live-streams your pet via an app.

How does it entertain them, though? The first iteration of the robot cannot play fetch, but it does come equipped with a laser pointer that can also be controlled remotely, allowing owners to play with their dogs and cats virtually.

The robot also has a night-vision mode, made with light-level sensors so that the animals can even be seen in the dark. Tuti has a battery life of 10 hours when charged for three hours.

To feel even more like Doc Brown in Back to the Future, the app also allows owners to dispense treats at any time of day.

Frankly, it’s hard to know for sure whether your pet will find this engaging or terrifying, but I guess there’s only one way to find out.

If you’re interested in giving it a shot, the Tuti Robo is priced at AED 999 and is available on Amazon and Miss Meow for only UAE residents, with KSA coming soon.
