Time magazine has named its ‘100 best inventions of 2020’ list, showcasing some of the new products and innovations that have taken the world by storm this year.
As everyone is painfully aware, this was no ordinary year; and so Time acknowledged the way that people’s lives were changed over the course of the year (namely, with its emphasis on entertainment products this year).
The list is split into a number of categories, including Accessibility, Beauty, Design, Entertainment and Fitness.
Front-and-center on the list is Sony’s PlayStation 5, which sits alongside the Xbox Series S in the Entertainment section.
Elsewhere, the Time celebrated Nintendo’s Animal Crossing game for the Switch console, and Nike’s Air Zoom Alphafly Next are featured in the Fitness section.
The magazine also looked at the products that have been put front and center thanks to the coronavirus pandemic; the LIXIL Sato Tap for example, is a portable handwashing station. Also on the list is the Oura Ring (for helping track NBA player’s fitness against COVID-19) and the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.
