Facebook has been testing its dark mode for mobile for a while now, but a stealthy new update just made it available on many more phones.
While not 100 per cent available for everyone, we have got it working on several smartphones (Android and iOS) here in the UAE.
To access the new mode is easy: just head to the Facebook Mobile application, hit ‘settings and privacy’ and then you should see Dark Mode. Go there to activate your preferred mode, or if you are on an iPhone you can set it to choose a mode depending on the time of day.
The Dark Mode feature has been a long time coming. Facebook have had users recommending it since 2019. Companion apps like Facebook Messenger have had Dark Mode for a while, so there’s little reason as to why main Facebook app users have had to wait so long.
If the Dark Mode feature is not available on your device, then make sure you have the app updated to the latest version. Failing that, you’ll have to wait for the new feature (although, if Facebook is testing the app with this many people than we’re sure we’ll begin seeing an official rollout soon).
