Motorola has unveiled a new version of its bendy RAZR phone. The new model comes with a better-designed 6.2-inch display, a more powerful processor and 5G capabilities.
The big news is the screen and that hinge. When the first model came out, critics panned the foldable phone for having a squeaky hinge and lackluster screen. That has been fixed, with Motorola unveiling a new 6.2-inch display that is more durable than ever before. The hinge has also been upgraded, making it ‘squeak-free’.
To remove any previous assumptions that this model is a slight upgrade over the last one, Motorola has also included 5G in the new model, and a Snapdragon 765G chipset under the hood.

You get a main 48-megapixel camera that also doubles as your phone’s front-facing camera (it’s foldable, natch) and there is a quick view display on the front to help with framing, and to receive notifications without having to unfurl the phone.
Video has also been given a boost; there is now automatic horizon correction, built-in optical image stabilization, as well as a ToF sensor that will focus in on a subject lightning fast, and create those creamy bokeh shots that everyone on Instagram goes nuts for.
The new RAZR is available in polished graphite (grey), liquid mercury (silver) and blush gold (gold). It’s still a tad pricey – it will cost around US$1,800 (AED6,650) when it arrives sometime in the Autumn.
