The tech giant unveils impressive upgrades across the board

Tech giant Samsung has made impressive upgrades across the board to its line-up of Galaxy devices including the Galaxy Note 20 Pro lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Watch 3

The releases were announced at the annual Samsung Unpacked event in South Korea, but was streamed to a global audience. Here are the top-line takeaway notes from the new line-up.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2

It’s second time lucky for the much vaunted generation of ‘folding screen’ smartphones. The impressive new Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a 6.2-inch (folded) screen on the front, and then a 7.6-inch (unfolded) main display. It’s also thinner than its predecessor and with some rather lovely sleek bezels. It’s 5G (naturally) and is better specced than most computers, simply meaning that it is quick as hell. It’s basically a Galaxy Note on steriods…

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

As is standard with tech updates, the new Note 20 Ultra is faster, smoother and comes with 3 cameras on the back. The 6.9-inch screen is very user-friendly and, of course, it comes with that S-Pen stylus. It’s safe to say this is one of the most powerful smartphones on the planet right now.

Galaxy Watch 3

In all aspects the new Galaxy Watch 3 has improved on what came before it with a thinner, lighter and better specced processor. What that means is it is now arguably the best equipped smart watch to challenge Apple‘s dominance in that market…even if it is more expensive. It comes with all the usual built-in sensors (including GPS) and will connect to networks without a smartphone. It should get you two days of battery life. It doesn’t run Google Andriod Wear though (it runs Tizen), so non-Samsung users beware.

Galaxy Buds Live

Galaxy Buds have a bizarre new ‘Bean’ design. New Buds Live are cheaper than Apple’s Airpods – but come in that new design. They have active-noise-cancelling and up to 21-hours of battery life (with some help from its little case). That design, though…

Galaxy Tab S7

Samsung has upgraded its Tab S7. It’s coming for Apple’s iPad Pro with precision stylus support (and a handy case that keeps it safe), and a proper keyboard and mouse. Comes in 11 and 12.4-inch varieties. Oh, and the stylus comes free (unlike a certain fruit-named company)
