According to sources, Apple is about to release new wireless buds.
The AirPods will take up the ‘pro’ monicker from the brand’s laptop and (now) phone, and come in as many as eight colours – including white, black and midnight green (to match current iPhone colours).
This comes from a report that also says the new AirPods will have active noise cancellation, and even water resistance. The new buds could be released as early as next week.
The most recent crop of AirPods were released in February of this year, complete with 50 per cent more battery life and the ability to talk to Siri, Apple’s artificially-intelligent helper. As for now, all AirPods come in plain white cases.
This new source seems to suggest that Apple is testing black cases, including matte finishes to improve grip. Other sources suggest that the new Pro version of the airpods will come in glass cases, similar to the look and feel of the new iPhone 11 Pro.
It goes without saying, if there are aesthetic changes to the AirPods then sound will no doubt have improved also. It’s rumoured that the AirPods Pro will come with multiple listening modes, including a ‘transparency’ mode similar to Apple’s recently released Beats Solo Pro.
