According to reports, it’s set to release next year and with the same processor as the flagships

Apple’s latest line of iPhone 11s have a lot going for them, a stellar camera, sleek design, snappy processor, one thing against the flagship however might just be a price. Starting at US $699, the 11 is by no means cheap. According to reports however, there’s a cheaper next-generation iPhone on the way.

Rumblings on the internet point towards Apple working on yet another new phone, slated for a “first quarter of 2020” release. The new phone is said to be a more affordable smartphone to join the existing selection of Apple blowers. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF Securities states it will resemble the iPhone 8, but will have 3GB of RAM. It will however have the same modern A13 processor as found in the iPhone 11, meaning it will be able to run iOS 13.

The phone, said to be priced at US $399 and will feature a similar casing to the iPhone 8, meaning that the Touch ID home button would be making a comeback, along with a smaller screen. The phone is being dubbed as the spiritual successor to the iPhone SE.

iPhone SE

The SE was a phone released between the launch of the iPhone 6 and 7, it stood as a cheaper choice than the 6. The SE came about to give customers the chance to have a smaller phone if they wanted, it used the same design as the iPhone 5S, but with a better camera. With reports calling this new phone the SE 2, we can expect it to follow a similar trend, using the iPhone 8 framework but beefing up the camera and tech inside.
