Gitex Technology Week is upon us, showing the region some of the greatest technological advancements going on right now. The event shows many possibilities in the future, one of which is the automation of key duties in hospitality.
One of those duties which was in need of automation was pancake making. UAE’S Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has shown off the robot named ‘Mouza’, a robot at the helm of a ‘future café’.
‘Future cafes’ will use robots more so than human stuff, improving efficiency for businesses. Mouza is a robot with multiple giant arms that can carry out multiple tasks at once, in this case, making a delicious pancake as smoothly as possible while brewing some coffee.

A video released by TRA shows Mouza on a round table surrounded by kitchenware, ingredients, and plates. The two arms work harmoniously to perform delicate steps like cracking eggs, mixing wet ingredients, placing toppings, and of course flipping pancakes.
Gitex Technology Week is at its core, a business-orientated event, showing the new ways in which technology can improve both small and large businesses. The event has workshops, exhibitions from major tech brands like Huawei and Microsoft, interactive displays, and even flying motorcycles. It stands as the largest event of its kind in the Middle East.
Gitex Technology Week takes place at Dubai World Trade Center and lasts from October 6-10.
