Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up to the sound of Nick Fury’s voice? Or pehaps Django himself? Well, now you might get the chance to do so for just US $ 0.99.
Amazon announced that it’s bringing a ‘new Neural Text-to-Speech’ technology at the Amazon Devices event in Seattle. Sameul L. Jackson is the first of celebrities coming to Alexa with more set to be rolled out in 2020.
So how will this new feature work?
Once users install the Jackson voice pack, all they need to do is say, “Alexa, introduce me to Samuel L. Jackson,” then pick whether they want him to use explicit language or not.
According to the company’s official blog post, Jackson “can tell you jokes, let you know if it’s raining, set timers and alarms, play music and more – all with a bit of his own personality.”
Reports suggest that Amazon is also developing a ‘voice-activated wearable device’ that will be able to detect users’ emotional state.
The new technology has been codenamed ‘Dylan’ and is designed to work with a smartphone app.
