Apple introduced a new iPhone last month called the iPhone XR—a cheaper version of the iPhone XS with a less fancy, 6.1-inch LCD screen and multiple colour options.
Cool! We all said before we realized that it still costs AED3,180 (US$750), which is actually expensive. But what else does the iPhone XR have to offer? What’s its thing?
With pre-orders now live, Apple dropped two new videos on YouTube that hype up the XR to unimaginable heights. In one, Apple focus on the camera. The XR has a single rear camera that distinguishes it from the XS, which came out last month and has dual rear cameras. Apple also makes a case for the LCD screen, which is a step down from the OLED screen offered by the XS. There’s some tech spec stuff, as well.
In the other video, Apple talks about all the things that make the XR pretty, like the six colours you can purchase it in: white, black, blue, coral, and yellow, plus a Product (RED) edition.
Apple knows this phone’s thing is being second best, but it swears it’s still good. If you’re convinced, you can pre-order the iPhone XR here—AED3,179 for 64GB, AED3,389 for 128GB, and AED3,809 for 256GB. It is available to purchase direct on October 26.
