Microsoft’s new console powerhouse is almost here. Originally introduced in E3 last year, the Microsoft Xbox One X will finally be hitting the UAE’s living rooms and man caves starting November 17.
With six teraflops of graphical horsepower; a fantastic level of detail enabling 4K HDR gaming, an inbuilt 4K Blu-ray player and 60fps on some games; this console is going to be 40% more powerful than any other out there.
With an octa-core CPU overclocked at 2.3GHz, 12GB of GDDR5 memory and a gaming PC-worthy GPU with 40 compute units smartly packaged under the console’s hood, means faster load times, smoother gameplay and life-like detail.
Many things are yet to be clear, despite Microsoft’s bold claims at last year’s E3 about VR, they are yet to make a move towards making it a reality. Furthermore, we are yet to be informed about the games supported by this console.
Nevertheless, the lavish price tag is yet to be justified. Breaking your piggy bank will definitely not be enough, as this console will cost you almost AED 2000 (US$499)
Will it be worth it? Only time will tell.
