Just a couple of days after an ecliptic night in which Google announced the new Android Oreo, it was safe to assume that Samsung were going to come back with a release of something big imminently; a gadget to comply with the latest system.
Recovering from the most disastrous episode in mobile phones history, after an ill-fated end to the Note7, Samsung has finally revealed its follow-up.
Hoping to have less exploding handsets, an un-packing session for the Note8 was held in New York last night.
What could you expect from this release?
Looking to win back their fans’ trust, working under lots of pressure, ‘Samsung’ have created their best ever Note till day.
Safer than ever, hoping to bring back the smile on their customers’ faces, a multi-point battery safety check system which found success in the earlier Galaxy S8 was implemented in the new Note 8 to avoid any battery malfunctions.
Physical appearance
Identical to the Galaxy S8 Plus but with a bigger display, the Note 8 will have a 6.3 inches display – the biggest ever for a Note- with squared off corners.
Keeping the curved shape, the heavier phone (when compared to the S8) will have a flatter surface to work or write on.
Buyers will have options of gold, black, blue, and sky blue to choose from.
System
Samsung will play it as safe as possible, for this year’s release it will have a 3300mAh battery, compared to a 3500mAh battery on the Note7. In addition, as expected, the Note will have a Snapdragon 835 processor, 64GB of storage (with microSD support) and 6GB of RAM.
Camera
Perhaps, the best addition to the Note is its dual-lens camera. Sitting at a staggering 12-megapixels, the phone will be a host to a newly introduced ‘Live Focus’ technology; which will allow users to take pictures of a focused subject in a blurry background, better known as the ‘Bokeh’ effect.
With two pictures being taken at the same time, you’ll have the option of uploading either the bokeh effect image or the standard one.
S Pen
One of the stand-out additions that will make the Note 8 unique to other devices on the market, is probably its S Pen stylus.
The S Pen will allow users to write memos on their phone’s lock screens; as well as, it comes with a translate function, all you have to do is hover over the piece of text.
The Note 8 will be released in stores on September 15th, and is expected to cost almost 3700 AED, pretty expensive for a device that is very similar to a cheaper Galaxy S8. Relying on their S Pen and Dual camera to make the numbers, Samsung will be hoping to cover up on their unforeseen disaster with the Note 7.
With Samsung aiming to triumph from their most humbling failure, avoiding a renewed disaster is probably a bigger goal to them than breaking sales records.
