In what amounts to a grand cosmic joke for gamers in the Middle East, Bethesda’s decided to drop its much-hyped Starfield in the bleary-eyed hours of the morning when any sane person would be asleep.
But who needs sanity when there’s the Starfield launch in UAE and Saudi Arabia to look forward to?
Remember when games launched at reasonable hours? Neither do we. Announced way back in 2018, Starfield’s been lurking in the shadows, waiting for its moment. It’s Bethesda’s first major single-player RPG since 2015’s ‘Fallout 4’. And with over 1,000 worlds, it’s going to take more than a few long nights to visit them all.
Now, for the nocturnal gamers of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, here’s the “stellar” news about the Starfield launch in UAE and Saudi Arabia:
- For the Masochists: If you’ve thrown money at a special edition or upgraded your regular copy, set those alarms (or just don’t sleep) for Friday, September 1. Your descent into Starfield madness begins at 3 AM KSA Time or 4 AM UAE time.
- For the Rest of Us: Regular edition owners and Game Pass subscribers, your date for sleep deprivation is September 6, at the same ungodly hours.
A word to the wise: Starfield is a beast, gobbling up around 139 gigabytes on PC and 126 gigs on Xbox Series X/S consoles. So, maybe start deleting those old cat videos or that game you said you’ll play someday (but never got round to it)
